Noteshelf. Noteshelf is a great compromise between GoodNotes and Notability. You'll find all the tools you need to take great notes on your iPad or Android devices.
It keeps you awake. Note taking forces you to pay attention and helps you focus in class (or while reading a textbook). It helps you learn. Studies on learning have shown that actively engaging with the topic by listening and then summarizing what you hear helps you understand and remember the information later.
Why It Made The Cut: As the best iPad for note-taking, the Apple iPad Air offers the best bang for your buck of all of the iPads available, with impressive processing and internet speeds and a build that rivals the more expensive Pro.
Notability. Notability is an excellent note-taking and PDF annotation app which I have been using for a number of years now. Apple Notes Aside from being free, the biggest advantage of Apple Notes is its deep integration with iOS. If you use iCloud and other Apple devices, you can effortlessly switch between taking notes on your iPad, iPhone, and Mac.
GoodNotes 5. GoodNotes is a powerhouse for notetakers everywhere. The app comes with everything you need to take notes, write music, or mark up PDFs.
Apple Notes When in doubt or on a tight budget, use Apple Notes. It's free and built into your iOS devices. It also syncs instantly across an iPad, iPhone and Mac. You can organize your early story drafts using folders or simply write them up and copy to a dedicated story writing app later on.
There are still valid reasons for choosing paper over an iPad. The most important one in my opinion is the battery. Another major reason why you would choose paper over an iPad for note-taking is the natural feel of paper.
iPad PDF annotation apps: LiquidText. iAnnotate 4. Adobe Acrobat Reader. PDFelement Lite.
