Did you know that you can set a GIF as your iPhone or iPad wallpaper that animates with a press? Sure, Apple doesn't make it possible for you to use them as they are, but you can make use of a workaround to enjoy your favorite animated GIF right on your iPhone lock screen.
Head over to “Settings” from the home screen of your iPhone or iPad. Scroll down below and tap on “Wallpaper” to proceed. Here, tap on the “Choose a New Wallpaper” option located right at the top. Now, select the “Live Photos” album and choose the live photo that you just converted using the app.
Go to Settings > Wallpaper > Choose New Wallpaper. Select “Live Photos” and then the live photo you just saved. Position the GIF how you want it and then tap “Set.” You can choose whether you want it to be on the Lock Screen, the Home Screen, or Both.
There are no built-in options in your Android device to set a GIF file as screen wallpaper. Therefore, you will have to rely on third-party apps. The first step is to select or download the GIF file, followed by opening it in the GIF Live Wallpaper app to edit, resize and add it to the Android screen.
Once selected, you'll be able to preview your new live photo by simply long-pressing on it. Tap on “Set” to access more options. You can set it either as your home screen wallpaper, lock screen wallpaper, or both. Choose your preferred option to complete the procedure.
To set a GIF as a wallpaper, all you have to do is tap on the GIF button at the bottom, select the appropriate options from the top — Fit to width, Full-Screen, etc — and tap on the little tick icon at the bottom.
Step 2Install GIF Live Wallpaper Next, you'll need to install GIF Live Wallpaper on your Android phone. To do that, either search for "GIF Live Wallpaper" on Google Play or use the link below to jump right to it. Tap on "Install" to download and install it, then open it up.
Create an image folder and move all images that you want to use for your animated background. Now right-click your desktop and choose Customize option. At the bottom left you will need to click on Desktop background. Click on Browse and select the images you want to use.
Your computer's operating system (macOS) doesn't have the software that supports setting animated GIFs as wallpaper or screensaver.
Turns out the flexibility and openness of Android once again prove their worth - thanks to a couple of apps, you can set almost any GIF or an MP4 file as a wallpaper for your homescreen.
You should try using a GIF wallpaper. It's a nice balance between the more intensive nature of video wallpapers and the static high-quality of a standard image. While it might be easy to set a GIF wallpaper on smartphones, Windows doesn't natively support this, so you must rely on third-party software.
Live Wallpaper is a cool new feature that is exclusive available on the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. It allows you to set animated wallpapers and also allows you to set your Live Photos as the background.
Here's how you can install and use AnimatedGIF on your Mac computer:
Option 1Save a TikTok Video as a Live Wallpaper on iOS On your iPhone, open TikTok, then find the video you want. Next, tap on the "Share" icon (the curved arrow), then hit "Live Photo" from the second row of actions. The video will be converted into a Live Photo, which can be found in your Photos app.
You'll have to use GIPHY to create a real GIF.
Next up, from the pop-up that appears, select the “Live Photo” option under the “Save as” section. Then, select the “High” resolution option and tap the “Save” button. This step will convert your GIF into a live photo, which you can then use as a wallpaper on your iPhone.
