1. Move and copy are two types of commands that can be done on a PC with files or typed text. Move is done when one file or piece of information is transferred to another file. Copy is done when a replica of a file or piece of text is taken and copied in another location.
Select the file or files you want to move to a different folder. Drag the file or files to iCloud Drive in the bottom left corner of the window. Click the back arrow button in the upper left corner of the window to navigate back to the main iCloud Drive folder. Select the file or files you just moved into iCloud Drive.

Move items into folders On your Mac, click the Finder icon in the Dock to open a Finder window. Do any of the following: Put an item in a folder: Drag it to the folder. Put several items in a folder: Select the items, then drag one of the items to the folder.
If you want to move just one non-iPhone video or photo to the Files app, follow these steps:
Swipe the artwork thumbnail to the left and choose 'Share'. The next screen will give you the option to choose the file format type. Select 'pro' and then choose whichever cloud storage you prefer (iCloud or Dropbox). Repeat this and export all of your gallery artwork files.
But all in all, you shouldn't see a difference in speed when copying files on the same drive or outside of it. When it comes to moving a file to a different drive—or using the Cut command—you're basically creating a copy of the file in a different location then deleting the original file.
