How to follow podcasts on iPhone or iPad
Google Podcasts is a free app with a streamlined design that makes it easy to listen to popular podcasts.
Seniors 55-plus make up 19% of current listeners, which skew male in all demographics. Podcasts vary greatly – from fictional shows to talk shows hosted by a celebrity. They allow you to listen to content whenever and wherever you want.
If you intend to listen to podcasts on your iPhone without using data, a good choice for you is to download podcasts on your iPhone while your device is connected to Wi-Fi, then enjoy them offline.
Just look around your apps for one called Apple Podcasts (or swipe down and search for it). It's a great app for the average listener, allowing you to search the directory, find new shows and subscribe easily. Then, you just have to fire up the app each time you want to listen, and pick an episode for the day!
Find podcasts
The most popular examples are iTunes and Spotify. If you have either app on your computer, then navigate to the podcast section, browse around and hit play. Even better, if you use the Spotify app to listen on your phone, then the subscription carries right over to that platform.

If you have an Android phone you can use the Google podcasts app. Search “Google podcasts” in the play store app or click this link on your phone to open it in the store.

Your iTunes podcast library is now available on Apple Podcasts. All the shows you follow and the stations you've created are available on Apple Podcasts on Apple TV, Mac, iPhone, and iPad and from iTunes on Windows.
The simplest way to listen to podcasts is on a web browser like Chrome, Safari or Microsoft Edge. You can do this from a computer or from the web browser on your phone.
Here are your options
Restrictions are essentially your iPhone's parental controls, so if Podcasts was accidentally turned off, you won't be able to download them. Open Settings and tap Screen Time -> Content & Privacy Restrictions -> Allowed Apps. Make sure the switch next to Podcasts is turned on.
